Description

For sale is this early 352 Pete cabover.  It is equipped with a PT 330 small cam Cummins engine.  These were the stationary engines being installed in trucks of this era.  It produces 330 horsepower with the help of a suitcase intercooler mounted in the intake manifold, and a turbocharger.  The Pete is also equipped with a 6 speed transmission and a 4 speed auxillary transmission.  Both transmissions are aluminum cases, I believe produced by Spicer, but not positive.  It has SQHD rearends, 4:11 ratio, mounted on very early Peterbilt air ride suspension.  Dual 100 gallon fuel tanks, rear windows, early air conditioning unit, factory dual stack recesses in cab, aluminum frame rails, and air assist steering make this a very unusual piece.  The truck needs a lot of cosmetic work.  The cab has some small dents, dings, etc.  The interior is rough.  The doghouse has been broke out at some point in time but was repaired rather nicely.  The engine runs like a top, and the truck will drive.  It has very good brake shoes, 4 new air bags, installed, all new radiator hoses, anti-freeze, etc.  The old Cummins motor has no leaks, external or internal.  The transmissions are full of synthetic 50 wt. oil and we just replaced the clutch and throw-out bearing.  This old cabover is far from road worthy, but a good start on a very neat piece of trucking history.  It has the original shutters on the radiator plus a factory bug screen.  All emblems and lights are in place.  I have the original sun visor for the truck, but it needs a little work.  There are some air leaks behind the dash, etc.  I have enough good glass to complete the truck.  I also have some cool old Bostrom West Coast air ride seats out of these trucks that go with the sale.  I have over $3000 alone invested in glass beading and polishing the 10 10.00x22 aluminum rims equipped with the 10 new tires, tubes, and flaps.  Try finding these tires new and you will understand, but I wanted to keep it original.  The frame rails have been shortened approx. 32 inches at some point in the past, but it still leaves it a very respectable 190 inch wheelbase.  Also included in the sale is the tan 1968 Peterbilt 352 unilite parts truck minus engine and transmission, but still a lot of useable parts.  The date on the pictures is incorrect.  These pictures were taken on 11/17/2013.  Also comes with a clean KS title.  If you have any questions, feel free to call Tony at Iron Horse Trucking.  785-623-3795
