We raise French Guineas, which are the same color as Pearl Guineas but much larger. French Guinea grow faster and produce eggs year round with proper light and heat control. French Guineas, when fed a high energy, high protein ration similar to broiler feed, will weigh in excess of 4 pounds at 13 weeks of age, thus excellent for meat production.
We currntly have 9 week old Guineas for sale! $18.00/keet, $30.00/pair or $80.00/flock of six.
Guineas, which are known as keets when young, are very active and easy to raise. After about 8-12 weeks of age, they require very little attention and will take care of themselves by hustling for their food. Guineas are an interesting addition to your farm or acreage. They have great personalities. Guineas are the farm yard watch dog, sounding the alarm whenever anything unusual occurs. They will consume large amounts of insects and seldom bother your garden or flowers. They are easy and inexpensive to raise. Once started, they fend for themselves, living on insects, seeds, and grasses. They control deer ticks, wood ticks (including those which carry Limes Disease), grasshoppers, box elder bugs, flies crickets, and all other insects. Their call will discourage rodents. They will kill snakes, and will alert you to anything unusual.
