Dusky & Ginger are two Welsh and Quarter horse cross mares eho are full sisters. Dusky is 10 or 11 years old, and Ginger is 9 or 10 years old. They are around 14 hands. Planning on selling them at the North Platte Stockyards' March 25, 2025 horse sale, unless someone takes a fancy to them before then.
They were born on the place, so they have been together their whole lives, but it's not a big deal if theh up separately.
Dusky is the darker one (bay or red roan) and Ginger is the lighter one. They both had nice stud colts last year (adding photos of them just so you can see they're nice. The colts are not for sale at this time.).
They are pretty little mares, spirited, flashy, and a bit head strong. Not mean, just inherited some hot blood from the stud they're by.
They should be dewormed and have their hooves trimmed by the time they sell. They just got their coggins done, but was so recent that do not have the results in hand yet. They load very easily into a trailer.
They would probably have to be called green because they have sat for the last several years. We are planning on (and have been recently) riding them til they sell, as much as we can.
Dusky has been ridden the most and I've been told she enjoys working cattle, but I've never personally ridden or watched her do it (the folks used to work for a local rancher and checked on and moved cows, etc, so she's had real experience, but was years ago.).
Dusky is very sure-footed and quick. Ginger is a bit bigger built, more Quarter horse looking than Dusky. Asking $2,000 per head.
