For sale is a 1969 Citroen ID19 sedan. The odometer reads 24k miles. This is the base model version of the legendary DS series cars. It is basically the same car with a little less trim and complexity. Some regard this as the best one to own and drive as you get all the goodness of the DS car with a better price and reliability.

What you are looking at is one of the most revolutionary and historic vehicles of all time. Citroen is a French manufacturer that was founded in 1919 and still going strong today. They have a special place in automotive history. Check out Google and YouTube to research its history and you will be amazed. Fast forward to 1955 and the Paris Auto Show where the all new revolutionary 1955 Citroen DS19 was unveiled. This car looked like a Spaceship and captivated the public eye. It had amazing technology that was very advanced like Hydropneumatic suspension, front disc brakes, aerodynamic body design, use of aluminum and fiberglass body panels, front wheel drive, innovative safety features, space frame chassis design, and a host of other amazing features and innovations! It is also the first production vehicle to be fitted with all new Michelin radial tires. They took orders for 12,000 on the first day! By the end of the show, they had sold 90k cars which was a record that was only recently surpassed by Tesla. The car had a 20-year lifespan and production ended for the 1975 model year with over 1.4 million cars sold! It was awarded 3rd place in the Car of the Century in 1999. They were massively popular around the world but rare in the USA as the NA market was used to larger more powerful vehicles.

This Citroen you are looking at is in very good condition inside and out and runs and drives fantastic! It is virtually ruse free which can be an issue to watch out for with these. The ride quality is unlike anything you have ever experienced. It is super supple and the suspension soaks up bumps like no other. The seats are some of the most comfortable to ever be fitted to an automobile. I tried to come up with a description and landed on this. It's like sitting on a marshmallow and driving on a cloud. lol. This ID19 is powered by a carbureted 1.9-liter 4cyl engine driving the front wheels through a column shifted 4 speed manual transmission. The brakes, suspension, and steering are all controlled by the high-pressure hydraulic system on the car. This Citroen has had a lot of service completed including having the complete hydropneumatic suspension system overhauled. It has all new nitrogen filled spheres, rebuilt suspension hydraulic rams, hydraulic pump, rubber boots, and more. It also has rebuilt front calipers rebuilt with new pads. All in all, over $4k in new parts recently installed. It stops on a dime. The engine runs great with no issues. The transmission shifts perfectly, and the clutch operation is perfect. The tires are like new as well. It currently has a couple of issues that still need addressed. The steering rack is leaking slightly and one or both CV axles are clicking when you turn. The speedometer and fuel gage are currently not working correctly as well. We will continue to recommission this car while we have it and the price will go up accordingly as we go along.
