I just picked up this Clawfoot and Ball Piano Swivel Stool so I don't know anything about it's history. Used Condition as pictured. Looks like it has been broken and mended on more than one occasion. Not sure if the wire is still needed or if it could be removed. It actually seems pretty solid to sit on. I oiled the screw and it now works fine to raise/lower the seat.
