The Kansas Department of Transportation is looking for a dependable, trainable, team player with good communication skills to become part of our family.  Currently hiring an Equipment Operator Specialist position in WAKEENEY, KS. This position will provide effective leadership to their assigned work unit. This includes such things as leading by example, effective training, coaching, providing employee development opportunities. This position will also serve as the full-time assistant to the Subarea supervisor and provides on-site field supervision of the maintenance crew. The Equipment Operator Specialist will oversee and perform preventative maintenance and minor repairs on the equipment.

On-the-job training is provided to obtain a CDL within 60 days

This position is subject to pre-employment physical and drug testing. Valid unrestricted driver’s license is required at the time of hire.  This position is full-time, unclassified with benefits.

Pay begins at $24.48/hour
