Trego County Lemke Memorial Hospital - Physical Therapy Department is seeking a Full-time Physical Therapy Aide.
PHYSICAL THERAPY AIDE
· Full-time position available - 30 hours per week
Position Overview
The Physical Therapy Aide is responsible and accountable for aiding in and preparing for treatment needed to deliver safe, evidence-based care under direct supervision; provides clerical support and uses good communication and customer service skills; uses professional and ethical judgment and behaviors, utilizes critical thinking when performing their duties; uses equipment, materials, and systems according to policies, procedures, and practice standards; participates in all infection control, departmental equipment training, organizational safety, and fire safety programs.
RESPONSIBILITIES
· Sets up treatment area and area and prepares patient for therapy.
· Aides in treatment with a therapist in compliance with policy.
· Transports patients to and from therapies per daily schedule safely and effectively.
· Performs patient transfers using proper transfer techniques in aiding in therapy treatment.
· Cleans therapy area and equipment and returns all equipment to proper storage area; ensures all equipment is in proper working order; removes any non-functioning equipment and reports appropriately; maintains department supply inventory.
· Commits to understanding and meeting the unique needs of external and internal customers by meeting and greeting customers appropriately.
· Takes responsibility for own work and provides support to others in accomplishing their work; positively represents the department and/or the hospital on policy.
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
· High School Diploma
· Current BLS Certification
· Ability to read and communicate effectively, with strong written and verbal skills.
· Intermediate computer knowledge with the ability to learn systems used.
