Police Debut Album    $40.00 (for serious collectors)     First Record Album put out by The Police -   Outlandos d’ Amour – 1979 – A & M Records.  Police: Sting, Stewart Copeland, Andy Summers.

Hit Songs = Roxanne, Can’t Stand Losing You & So Lonely.

Recorded from January to June 1978.  Released November 2, 1978.

The First Pressing original release album cover has the “The Police” in yellow and is the most sought after and hardest to find album.  Later and subsequent releases of this album had “The Police” in the color Blue or Red. There are a lot more of those blue and red color albums for sale on Ebay than you will find the rare and hard to find Yellow front covers.

The title Outlandos d'Amour is a loose French translation of "Outlaws of Love", with the first word being a combination of the words "outlaws" and "commandos", and "d'Amour" meaning "of love".

Outlandos d'Amour is the debut album by the English rock band The Police.   Elevated by the success of its lead single, "Roxanne", Outlandos d'Amour peaked at No. 6 on the UK Albums Chart and at No. 23 on the Billboard 200. The album spawned two additional hit singles: "Can't Stand Losing You" and "So Lonely".

Although Outlandos d'Amour received mixed reviews upon its release, it has since been regarded as one of the strongest debut albums by a new rock band.
