I wish people could see the Pearl we get to see!! She gets so excited and overwhelmed in public with all the new people, dogs, and things to explore that people don’t get to see the sweet, cuddly, happy girl that her fosters do.

Dog friendly: Yes with proper intros
Cat friendly: Yes, does occasionally need reminded not to chase them
Kid friendly: Yes, may be a little too energetic for small kids 

Potty trained: Yes, but needs out to potty as soon as she comes out of her kennel
Leash trained: does well on a leash as long as she’s moving, working on not jumping when excited 
Kennel trained: does well in a kennel, doesn’t always go in easily
Energy level: medium/high energy level

BIOGRAPHY: Pearl is a party girl that is always ready for a good time and an adventure! She loves kids, dogs and cats, she just forgets that her “in your face” personality isn’t always appreciated by everyone she meets. She just wants to be friends and isn’t sure why everyone else doesn’t feel the same! She would do best with a large (tall) fenced yard or an active family that will walk her daily. She loves other animals (once she knows them), and especially loves wrestling 🤼 with them, not all of her foster siblings appreciate that. Pearl easily clears baby gates and regular fences. She would be great for agility if someone would work with Her and has already competed a beginners agility course. She’s a fast learner and treat motivated.

HISTORY: Pearl was picked up running at large with 2 other dogs from the same home and landed in a small rural shelter. Her time had run out there and they were all transferred to DC Shelter where the other 2 were both adopted, but Pearl was not. She was running out of time and at risk of not making it out when a foster stepped up to save her. 

Adoption fee:  $135 and includes: current on rabies & parvo/distemper vaccines and heartworm/flea/tick preventative;  are wormed and microchipped and spayed or neutered.
