Nex-Tech Wireless is hiring a Software Developer Apprentice to learn to create, build, and maintain systems that support our operations.  This individual will gain on-the job training learning to design, write, and debug scripts as well as assist in designing and implementing API integrations to be utilized by internal teams and external vendors. Our development team collaborates on software needs and works on creative solutions to improve efficiencies.  This apprenticeship could lead to Software Development position. Candidate will be required to be in office three days per week in Hays, KS.

We are seeking candidates to:

• Support report scripting needs, analyze data, and troubleshoot issues.
• Assist in API creation and integration: analyze, design, develop, code, secure and implement in necessary programming languages.
• Gain familiarity with Nex-Tech Wireless’ development architecture, functions of internal systems, and vendor relationships.
• Monitor and responds to alarms, performs corrective procedures, and escalates issues as necessary.
• Work flexible hours including some nights, weekends, and on-call rotation.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree (preferred) in Computer Science, Network Technologies, or a similar field or equivalent work experience
• Basic knowledge of PHP, JavaScript, Python, SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS), Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and ability to become proficient with company-specific billing software
• Technical aptitude and strong desire to learn
• Ability to work well and collaborate as a member of a team
• Ability to think critically about challenges and to take initiative
• Ability to communicate effectively with a team via face to face, phone, email, or virtual meeting
