Description

On Saturday, November 30th at 2:00 p.m., the afternoon of the Tree Lighting ceremony in WaKeeney, you can bring the kids to see the free puppet show "GOOD KING WENCESLAS."  It's the story of a king and his page who brave a winter storm to take food and supplies to a peasant on the day after Christmas.  It's an audience participation show that the whole family will enjoy. You may remember the famous Christmas song with the same title.  Listen to it on YouTube!  The show is written and performed by Kansas puppeteer and actor, Brett Crandall. You can see photos of his last-show at the library in June: "Robin Hood" on the library website at

wakeeney.nwkls.org

Want to make some free Christmas decorations before the show?  There will be a "Crafty Christmas" open house from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and visitors can make a papercraft gingerbread house or a cute Christmas tree using book-folding craft.  Free refreshments will also be provided.

The puppet show lasts one hour, so you'll be out at 3:00 p.m., plenty of time to get in line for your Santa tickets at 4:00 p.m.

Call the library at 785-743-2960 for more information.
