Up for sale is a rare 2002 avalanche 2500 Z71.

What makes a avalanche 2500 rare, they are everywhere for sale?

Most avalanche are 1/2 ton or 1500. Only 3% of total production was 2500. From 01-06 only 9500 were produced.  In 02 only 2537 were 2500s. They stopped making 2500 in 06 cause they discontinued the 8.1 vortec.

**This is not the 1/2 ton avalanche. The one everyone is selling, dealer might even have 2 of on lot. 1/2 tons got 6 lugs. This truck has 8 lugs. That's like saying 1/2 ton trucks are same as 3/4 tons. Yes visually they are similar.  But mechanically and capabilities are not the same.

I looked up avalanche 2500 for sale. Threw 5 websites I only found 7 in the entire country for sale as of today. 01-06 only 7. My local chevy dealer sold avalanche when they were new. They told me this was the first avalanche 2500 that has been in there shop.

Transmission was serviced an gm dealer in Oct 23 when I bought it.

Side boxes in bed similar to dodge ram box.

Has the heavy 3/4 front suspension and leaf springs rear. (1/2 ton has coils)

Heavy 14bolt full floater axle 8lug. Same as 2500hd.

I bought the truck w 109k on it in Oct 2023. It has 113k today. Dose not get driven much. 

Have towed trailer full of lumber 6000lbs. 200 miles. Put a semi transmission in the bed 1200lbs. 350 miles. Towed a Studebaker 200 miles. Truck never struggled once. 

The back folds down can haul 4x8 plywood or sheet rock w tailgate closed.

No rust, undercarriage is clean not even surface rust. Spent most of its life in TX. My Dr bought the truck in 04. Gave it to his dad in 2000. His dad passed in 23 so he got the truck back. I bought it in Oct 23. No history between  new and 04.

Buying another truck. This one is just too nice to use it as I want to. I don't want payments on my other truck. Guessing in 2 months if this don't sell I won't have to sell this and will keep it. I don't think I will find another 2500 this clean for what I got in it.
