Trego County Lemke Memorial Hospital - Long Term-Care department is looking for a full-time Activities Assistant. 

Full-time position (Some weekends/evenings required)

Position Overview

Provides small and large group activities designed to meet the needs and interests of each resident and which include social activities, indoor and outdoor activities, activities away from the facility, religious programs, creative activities, educational activities and exercise activities.  Provides assistance with documentation of social activities.  Interviews the resident, documents, keeps up the quarterly charting and at times assists with social activities.  Assists with transportation of residents to medical appointments.

RESPONSIBILITIES

·         Help plan social activities, religious programs, creative activities, educational activities, and exercise activities.

·         Assist with charting and at times assist with transportation of residents to medical appointments.

·         Provides small and large group activities designed to meet the needs and interests of each resident.

·         Treats residents and their families with respect and dignity.

·         Maintains programs designed to make life more meaningful, to fully stimulate and support physical and mental capabilities and to enable the resident to maintain the highest attainable social, physical and emotional functioning.

·         Maintains an excellent customer service-oriented attitude.

·         Develops, implements, and assists with activities for residents unable to leave their rooms.

·         Treats residents and their families with respect and dignity. Identifies and addresses psychosocial, cultural, ethnic, and religious/spiritual needs of residents and their families.

 

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

·          High School Diploma or GED equivalent.

·          May have additional qualifications that would enhance job performance, such as certification or licensing as a CNA, LPN, RN or degree in recreational, social or occupational work.

·          Completed or will complete a State of Kansas training course designated specifically for this position.

·          Basic computer knowledge.
