I have a 1944 production German K98 Mauser. The BCD 4 receiver marking denotes Gustloff-Werke as the manufacturer, made in 1944. I am by no means a Mauser expert, but from what I can tell, all of the serialized parts that I have located on this rifle appear to match. Overall condition looks fantastic for an 80yr old rifle. The bore is pristine and bright. The exterior surface condition of the metal looks very good, with no significant pitting, and very little finish loss. The laminate wood stock looks good and solid. There are a couple small chips around the wrist and at the toe of the stock near the buttpad. The rifle still has it's cleaning rod, sight hood, and sling.
