The Kansas Department of Transportation is looking for dependable, trainable, team players with good communication skills to become part of our family.  KDOT is currently hiring a Highway Maintenance Supervisor position in Atwood, KS.

  On-the-job training is provided to obtain a CDL within sixty days.  An annual $400 Personal Protection Equipment allowance is available.  Insurance benefits, including health, prescription, dental and vision are provided at a minimal cost.  Other benefits include KPERS retirement, vacation, sick and paid parental leave.  This position is subject to pre-employment physical and drug testing.  The selected candidate will be required to pass the screening as a condition of employment in this position.  A valid unrestricted driver’s license is required at the time of hire.  Starting pay is $27.61-29.41, depending on experience.

 Position duties & responsibilities:  This position is responsible for providing technical knowledge and supervisory skills necessary for the management of all maintenance work programs in a designated area.  Duties include managing and directing a crew of highway equipment operators in performing highway or bridge maintenance or repair. 

Minimum Qualifications:2 years of experience in highway and bridge construction and/or maintenance, including 1 year of lead worker experience.
