Santa Fe Feeders, LLC in Cimarron, KS is looking for an applicant for a pen rider/cowboy in our 10,000 head feedlot. Applicant must have a positive attitude and work well with other employees, experience in identifying and treating sick cattle, possess excellent cattle handling skills, and be able to keep 2 horses in rotation. Pasture and roping skills are not required, but are good to have. We run 1000-2000 head on irrigated circles year round. Most days are spent horseback, but you will not be horseback all day, everyday. Applicants are expected to be flexible and willing to do whatever jobs they are given for the day.

Job duties include but are not limited to:

-Riding pens

-Doctoring daily pulls

-Shipping and receiving cattle

-Daily movements

-Processing cattle when needed

-Returning cattle to home pen

-Doctoring cattle on pasture

-Moving cattle to and from pastures

-Operating equipment to maintain horse pens and hospital facilities

-Building and removing wheat pasture hot wire fences

-Maintaining pasture fences and facilities

We offer competitive pay and benefits after 30 days of employment. Housing is available if it is something you are looking for. Starting pay is $16-18/hr DOE and housing.
