Description

A parish in Jamaica named St. James and its capital Montego Bay, was FORD'S inspiration to name its 1968 version of the Mercury division's Comet. The Montego first appeared as the top-of-the-line midsized Mercury in 1968. Replacing the Comet nameplate almost entirely, (only a single bargain-basement priced Comet remained; the rest were Montegos), it shared a redesigned body with its corporate sibling, the Ford Fairlane, along with its fancier Torino version. Like most domestic cars back then, the Montego was available as a coupe, sedan, station wagon, and convertible.
This car was stored in a barn for a lot of years until the older gentleman (His aunt had bought the car new) decided to sell to his custom cutter that had been coming and cutting his crops for many years.  We purchased it from him. It is a straight car as far as body and frame etc. It is the original paint, interior is in great shape, no cracks in the dash or anything like that.  It has been stored inside for the last how many years.  I do not know if the original owner would've stored it inside or not. Also has new tires.  It is tuned up, it starts every time and drives down the road great.  Please call or text Tyler at 620-846-0612 with any questions you might have.
If you still want a straight car in good shape but don’t want to pay 3-5 x the money for a perfectly restored one this is the car for you!
