This is an early 50s Delta Homecraft 11” drill press that has been completely restored to new condition. By that I mean that every part: nuts, bolts, washers, quill assembly, castings, bearings, etc. Were disassembled, de-rusted, lubed and reassembled. The castings were sandblasted down to bare metal and repainted. It retains the original pulley cover badge and serial number tag. The motor is a replacement Westinghouse 1/4 HP motor. These presses originally came with 1/4 or 1/3 HP motors, tho this motor is not original to the press. The motor disassembled, cleaned, lubed and repainted. It has bronze sleeves for the shaft and they were in excellent condition - the motor alone is nearly silent when running.
This is a 70+ year old machine in new condition. Head on down to the local box store and see what they want for a modern 11” press w plastic components and ask yourself if it will be running in 70+ years. Then come take a look at this one. It will be in my shop till sold and you’re welcome to come test drive it before buying.
