BIOGRAPHY: Remington is a snuggly, Velcro kind of dog that likes to be right next to his person! He adores kids!  Remington is also quite protective of his people and very alert when walking, he would be great for a single momma and her babies or a family with children! He is excited and energetic for a few minutes on walks, but then calms down and walks well. His size alone is enough to intimidate someone with bad intentions, but Remington is also ready to defend those he loves. He gets the zoomies for a few minutes after coming out of his kennel, but calms down pretty quickly and is ready to snuggle next to (or on top of) his person. He has a raspy bark that makes him sound like an older guy and always makes his foster mom laugh. He lives with kitties in his foster home and does well as long as he is supervised. He is also treat motivated.

Medical issues: Remington does best with a slow feeder so that he doesn’t eat too quickly

HISTORY: Remington was picked up as a stray but he had a microchip. Shelter staff reached out to his former owners who stated they had rehomed him and would contact new owners, but no one ever came for him. Remington was highly stressed in the shelter and losing weight, so he was moved to the top of the list. We were actually told Remington had been euthanized the morning we reached out wanting to get him a pup cup…a few minutes later, shelter staff informed us that due to sheer luck, the vet had not been able to fit it in and he was still here! One of our volunteers quickly went and gave him a pup cup and bacon cheeseburger and lots of loves, thinking he wouldn’t make it through the day. When he was still here the next morning, we knew we had to save him and we moved him to boarding. Boarding wasn’t ideal for Remington either and luckily a foster stepped up for him!

Adoption fee:  $135 and covers the cost of Distemper, Parvo, Flu & Boradatella Vaccines. Plus, a Rabies vaccine and a Heartworm test along with preventative.  Dogs are wormed and microchipped and spayed or neutered.  This fee also helps to cover any cost of travel getting to our rescue and around the state to foster homes and vet visits while in our care.
