I’m Mia and I’m still on the hunt for my forever home!  I am a heeler/shepherd mix and weigh around 53 lbs. At 2 years old, I’m still a young girl with lots of life and love left to give. I tested well with dogs and cats at the shelter, but in my first foster home, the cats would pick fights and then I was ready for a chase.

I have been blossoming in my current foster home for several weeks now and am feeling confident and playful.  It goes to show what a loving home can do for a dog that was as scared as I was in the shelter. My foster parents have taught me about the joys of riding in the vehicle with them, and I now love going on rides.  I load in and out of the truck easily.  I've also learned to enjoy running around their farm and am good about coming back when called.  I love playing tug-of-war with my foster sibling, a blue heeler.   I don’t mind kids as long as they can be kind and respectful to me, a lot of noise or activity can still make me nervous, although I'm generally much less nervous than I used to be. And, not to brag, but I don’t show any signs of aggression with food, toys or treats and I love my dog foster siblings! I have a pretty adorable head tilt too! I have no interest in playing the field, I’m looking for a lifetime commitment!
