Graham County Hospital in Hill City, KS is seeking a dedicated and skilled Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our rehabilitation team. Under the direction of a licensed Physical Therapist, the PTA will assist in implementing treatment plans, helping patients regain mobility and strength, and improving overall functional independence. Full-Time Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA)
Job Type: Full-time
Schedule: Five 8-hour days a week
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Physical Therapist in carrying out treatment plans for patients with a variety of conditions.
- Assist with wound care management as directed by the Physical Therapist, including dressing changes and patient education.
- Provide therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, and other interventions to improve patient mobility and function.
- Educate patients and families on home exercise programs and rehabilitation techniques.
- Document patient progress, responses to treatment, and any changes in condition.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure coordinated patient care.
- Maintain compliance with hospital policies, state regulations, and professional standards.
- Assist with patient transfers, mobility training, and use of assistive devices.
Requirements:
- Associate’s degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
- Current state licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in a hospital or rural healthcare setting is a plus but not required.
- The ability to lift and/or support over 25 pounds.
