05 Mercury Gran Marquis 4.6L V8 with 225k miles. This has been my road trip car for six years, its always been reliable. First off we'll get the bad out of the way:
AC quit but it is still holding pressure so not sure whats up there.
Outside its ugly, paint is falling off the hood.
Theres a crack in the windshield thats been there since I got it but it never bothered me.
Thats honestly about it besides some squeaks & rattle that any high mileage car has.
If you're still interested heres the good stuff:
Its always been a solid car, never let me down. I've had it from St. louis to LA to Vegas to Texas & everywhere in between. The ole girl never skipped a beat, makes a real world 23+ mpg on the interstate.
The previous owner had the tranny rebuilt right before I bought it at 194k.
This ole girl will haul the mail. I had Mo's speed shop in Georgia make a custom tune for it that has better throttle response, firmed & raised shift points then disabled the top speed governer. At this point the car got straight piped & a police interceptor intake. Its still got the cats so its not like open header loud but she rumbles for sure. Going down the interstate you can still have a regular conversation.
I only stretched her legs once & I don't know how fast she'll go but she will move.
The interior is still pretty good, a couple coffee stains but overall cleans up good. Everything else works the way it should. She steers straight, brakes are good, all four tires were bought as a set & have lots of life left. Radio, windows, keyless, power seats, lights etc all work. The engine carries good oil pressure & doesn't get hot.
Its always been factory serviced & maintained. I just put a battery in it also.
If you want I have an 8.8 rear axle with 4.10 gears & posi track for a little more. I was going swap the gears at one point but since I pretty much only drove on the interstate I kept the factory tall gears.
I honestly really like the car & kind of don't want to sell it but I gotta make some space.

Thank you.
Edit: a temp sensor under the intake has failed so now the engine light is on. The engine still runs fine though & I can show you the code on my scanner. I'm honestly to busy to mess with it so I'm dropping the price on the car significantly.
