The Ellis County Ham Operators will be holding the monthly meeting on 3 May 2023 at 7 pm.  This months meeting will be at the shelter on south Main St in Hays by the National Guard Armory    We will be erecting and testing anNVIS  antenna designed for regional communications from 20 - 400 miles as well as communication in rugged terrain.  This is a type of communication used by the military.   Anyone interested in communications for a SHTF situation is welcome to attend and learn more about many radio communication possibilities for an emergency and as a hobby   Ham radio isn't just about morse code anymore ( but that is still an option for those interested).  There are new digital modes that open up many options.    We will also have a teting session at 7 pm at 601 Main in the extension office meeting room, so if you are ready to take that step, you can get it done  There is a small fee for the testing   Hope to see you there
