EM Farms is proudly offering an eight-week-old (January 3rd, 2023) black, white face Angus heifer calf named ASTRED. She was out of a Hereford cow and a black Angus bull. She was with the cow until this morning so that means colostrum from mom and eight weeks on cow milk. She is a big calf that has never been handled until today. She is weighing 170 pounds. We are currently putting her on the bottle of whole milk protein country companion formula, so she is still in the bottle-breaking process. This is not a calf I recommend putting with little kids or anything until she is more used to people. She is curious and after a few more days of bottle feeding she will not be able to leave you alone. But this one would be great for a little cowboy that can handle her. I am only 110 pounds, and I could do it! But we can always discuss keeping her a few more days to bottle-break her further! She is eating brome, alfalfa, and distillers’ corn with pre-con calf starter mixed in as well. She has been vaccinated with Inforce 3, Enroflex, and Bose. I did include a video of her drinking her bottle along with our vaccination procedure. She is guaranteed to be scour-free, has no cough, no runny nose, is 100% healthy, and has no issues. All the calves are currently under a big shed with access to two separate straw shelters with heat lamps to allow them to go out or decide to stay in the warmth. ASTRED is in Lindsborg Kansas at JEM Farms. To schedule a time to come to see her or any of the other babies we have listed please call or text 785-294-1702.
