CITY SUPERINTENDENT - WATER/WASTEWATER OPERATOR 

The City of Downs is seeking highly motivated and ethical applicants for full-time employment. The City of Downs owns and operates the water and wastewater utilities.

This position includes, but not limited to, water and wastewater operations, purchasing and working with budgets is desirable, general utility and street maintenance, operation of the public swimming pool, cemetery maintenance, mowing and other city improvements, as necessary. Applicants must be able to operate large equipment and possess a valid Driver’s License.

Preferred qualifications include: KDHE Class I Wastewater Certification and Class II Water Operator certifications or be willing to obtain certifications within 18 months of hire date.

The City of Downs provides generous health insurance along with vacation days, sick leave, holiday pay, and KPERS retirement. This job offers a competitive wage depending on experience and certification. Selected applicants will be subject to pre-employment drug and alcohol testing.
