JEM Farms would like to welcome everyone to tag 1180 also known as Private (YES, we did name this group of four after the penguins of Madagascar! The black and white seemed too fitting for this group!) This bull Holstein calf was born on January 15th, 2023, that also came from a dairy in northeast Kansas which is known for its amazing calves and great health. He does have a chip tag in his other ear from the dairy that was used as his identification tag for the automatic feeding system. He was given two days of colostrum milked from the cow. He has since been transferred over to our preferred brand of whole milk protein formula which he devours morning and evening. Matthew currently weighs 95 pounds and is an absolute tank. He has been vaccinated with enforce 3, Enroflex, and Bose. I did include a video of him drinking his bottle this morning along with our vaccination procedure. He is guaranteed to be scour-free, has no cough, no runny nose, is 100% healthy, and has no issues. All the calves are currently outside with access to two separate straw sheds with heat lamps to allow them to go out or decide to stay in the warmth. Private is in Lindsborg Kansas at JEM Farms.
