KDOT is currently hiring an Equipment Operator OR Equipment Operator Trainee in ATWOOD.

Position duties & responsibilities: Maintain highways & facilities through activities such as repairs, resurfacing, mowing.  Operate dump trucks, small & medium-size loaders, tractor, rollers & power brooms to perform various maintenance tasks.  Operate a loader or truck-mounted plow & spreader in snow & ice control operations.  Perform manual labor associated with maintenance activities, including the operation of miscellaneous equipment such as chain saws, weed eaters, pumps, compressors, jackhammers, generators, power tools & various hand tools.  Setup & remove temporary traffic control & serve as flag person for maintenance work zones.

 Those without a Class A CDL qualify as an Equipment Operator Trainee and receive on-the-job training to obtain a CDL within 90 days.  Equipment Operator Trainee pay is $18.74/hour.

The Equipment Operator position requires a Class A CDL with air brake option at the time of hire. Equipment Operator pay is $20.13/hour.

 A valid driver’s license is required at the time of hire.  

The positions are subject to pre-employment testing.
