This is a Uniden cordless phone base set and answering system purchased from Walmart in 2011. It is model D1680 series. A land line is needed to use this kind of system.

There are also 5 compatible DCX160 handsets which were purchased from the Uniden website in 2012. User's guides are included for the base set and the handsets. The system is able to be used as an intercom between handsets within the same house or building. You can also carry a handset outside to receive calls when outside if you don't get too far away.

Rechargeable batteries are in the phone handsets. We haven't used them for a while, but they worked when we packed them away.
