McCarty Family Farms is currently seeking a Farm Maintenance Technician to join our growing company. This is a great opportunity to join a multistate, 4th generation, family- oriented dairy operation. McCarty Family Farms operates 24 hours per day and this position may require weekend work along with on call duties as needed.

Job Description:

1.      Perform daily maintenance tasks in a safely manner

2.      Provide maintenance support with provided training of parlor utility equipment/milking equipment

a.      Scheduled PM’s and On Demand PM’S

b.      Logs and trend analysis

c.       Work around cows

d.      Vacuum Pumps, Softeners, Air Compressors, Pumps, and Chiller Packages / HVAC

e.      Milking Equipment and Controls, VFD’s, and electrical wiring

3.      Provide maintenance support of Farm Equipment

a.      Scheduled and On Demand PM’s

b.      Tractors and Farm Implement Equipment

c.       Feed Mixers, Grinders, Sand Shooter, Semi-Trucks, and Trailers

d.      Irrigation Sprinkler Systems

4.      Work with parlor managers on quality and production issues

5.      Flexible schedule to support planned maintenance shutdowns

6.      On call as needed to support equipment failures on night shift

7.      Assist in continuous improvement projects

8.      Perform tasks correctly the first time to minimize downtime and rework

9.      Assist in inventory management

Candidates should have these qualifications:

·      Extreme attention to detail

·      Mechanically inclined

·      Light carpentry, plumbing, and electrical skills experience are desired

·      Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

·      Organized, task-driven, and able to work independently as well as within a crew

·      Must be able occasionally lift up to 100 pounds

·      Valid driver’s license

No previous experience is required. Employer is willing to train on all aspects of the job.
