The City of Ellis seeks bids for a 1984 Chevrolet C70 fire truck (VIN 1GBJD1E1EV13783).  The truck is a single axle with a 427 engine and a 5-speed transmisission.  Interested parties may view the truck by appointment at the Ellis Fire Department at 815 Jefferson Street, Ellis Kansas between June 17, 2019 and June 28, 2019.  Please contact Fire Chief Dustin Vine at 785-656-zero900. to set up an appointment.

The truck is currently equipped as a fire truck, however, all fire equipment will be removed and is not included with the sale.  This includes the light bar, generator, hose, axes, air packs, radios, etc.  Everything on the truck works except the fuel gauge isn’t accurate and the pump does not pass the pump test.  It also has an auxiliary pump and roll that works.  The truck has less than 9,500 original miles and the speedometer hasn’t turned over.  There are less than 5,000 miles on the engine.  The truck is sold “as is” and has no remaining warranty.

Sealed bids sumbmitted to the Ellis City Clerk’s office must have “Bid On 1984 Chevy C70 Fire Truck” plainly marked on the outside of the envelope.  Bids must be received at the City Clerk’s office by 5:00 pm, Monday July 1, 2019.

Bids should be for a fixed dollar amount.  A check for the full amount of the bid must accompany the bid.  Checks found unaccepted bids will be returned immediately after bids are opened.

Bids will be opened at the July 1, City Council meeting.  The City reserves the right to reject any and all bids.
