Northwest Tech, located in Goodland, KS is seeking an instructor to teach in the Electrical Technology program at the College. You can stop wiggling around in crawl spaces and attics, busting up your shoulders and knuckles, and instead teach in the comfort of the lab and classroom in of one of the fastest-growing programs on our campus!

As a member of the College faculty, our instructors are expected to participate in division and college-wide activities. A successful candidate must demonstrate an understanding of the mission of a rural technical college and be willing to teach in a diverse environment. Candidate must have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to adapt teaching methods to different learning styles.

Position Requirements

• Possess a Master Electrician Certification and have the ability and willingness to obtain City of Goodland licensure.
• Be willing to teach the full electrical credit hour load per semester, maintain an active campus presence and involvement, and hold a minimum of 10 office hours per week.
• Be willing to teach a broad range of electrical courses such as electrical theory, safety, motor controls, AC/DC, National Electric Code, etc., and instruct students on actual “live-work” electrical projects on campus and within the community.
• Possess a Bachelor’s degree or be willing to obtain such degree through a progressive professional development plan the college will assist with.

Compensation

Compensation includes: 12-month salary, 9-month teaching assignment, and benefits package including health insurance, KPERS retirement plan, sick leave, and more.
