Description

Mahogany furniture dating from 1936 to the mid-1950’s often carries a Mahogany Association label. The Association issued two types of labels: a Blue Label indicated a veneer of genuine mahogany; a Red Label that guaranteed the piece was made of solid genuine mahogany. This is a solid mahogany piece from 332 (hungerford Memphis).

The Mahogany Association was established in 1936 as a guarantee to buyers that their furniture was constructed from genuine mahogany and not some lesser wood stained to resemble mahogany. Each furniture manufacturer had their own Association label carrying their company’s individual number. For example, all mahogany furniture made during that time period by Hungerford of Memphis, carried a label with the number 332; no other company could use that number.

I am not attached to it, but I do know what it is worth. It does have light chipping on top and slight scratches on drawer faces, which should go without saying with its age. If you have an offer, please let me know what you are thinking. No low ballers.
