I would restore this one but just finished another 1917 a couple weeks ago. There is some very light rust that came off with some oil and steel wool without ruining the original finish, I haven't gotten it all but just tested the barrel and receiver to see how it bad it was, and it isn't nearly as bad as I thought. Original finish should be mostly in tact. Barrel is marked 11-18, flaming bomb on barrel and receiver. There was surface rust in the barrel and I did a little scrubbing, but not a lot. Patches are still coming out black but I think if you ran a brush through it more it'd look better. A 30-06 round shows the bullet still showing for 1/8" and rifling is visible. The half towards the muzzle looks good and the first half looks like there will probably be a little pitting.

I've looked up what parts will run. All of the metal hardware other than the stock can be found for 160. I've seen stocks selling on auctions online for ~100. You'd have roughly $350 in a 1917 which is pretty good. Would be a fun project

I don't have a whole lot of free time so it is hard for me to get out of Great Bend. I might be able to make it 30 miles out of GB but most of the time I am unable to give a whole lot of notice. First one with cash in hand gets it since I've been having some problems of people saying "I'll take it" and then bailing.
