Description

Posi limited slip 3.42 gears Rear End Axle 7.5in GM 10 bolt Regal Cutlass Monte Carlo SS El Camino S10

I no longer have the car I built this rear end for, so I don’t need the rear end.  It should directly fit any 1978-88 GM A or G-Body intermediate like an Olds Cutlass, 442, Hurst Olds, Chevy Monte Carlo SS, El Camino, Malibu, Buick Regal, or Pontiac Grand Prix.  It is out of a 1981 Malibu and the housing has been sprayed black.  It has a good working GM Eaton Gov-lock Positraction center section from a 1980’s S-10 truck.  The gears are GM 3.42 ratio from a 90’s trans am.  The unit has new pinion and axle seals, gaskets, properly shimmed bearings and new crush ring, all set up with proper gear mesh pattern between the ring and pinion.  It has fresh 80w90 synthetic gear oil and GM limited slip additive.  I tore the gasket taking it off for pictures, so you will need to spend 3 bucks for a new one.

I am also including over $200 in new parts for all the installation goodies needed including new brake drums, brake cylinders, brake pads, hose and distribution block, emergency brake cables, new springs and other hardware needed.  With this you can put it in your car and not be nickeled and dimed for all the little parts you forgot and should replace to make a perfect installation.  I already bought them.

If you want to use it in a truck or some other car, know that it has the standard GM intermediate 5x4.75in bolt pattern with 7/16-20 studs.  One of the wheel studs should be replaced.  The overall width between wheel mounting faces is about 58 inches.  It will drop right in your project car and let you lay two stripes, not one!  3.42 is a huge improvement over the 2.41 or 2.56 gears most of these cars have.  This will stand up to a healthy 350 or 400 on street tires.  If you have a big block or are drag racing with slicks you may eventually twist the splines off the axles.  That is the weak spot in these rearends, not the gears themselves.

I will deliver within a 30 mile radius of Salina, and we can do farther if you give a call.  If you want it shipped, figure on truck freight of about $125-150 anywhere in the lower 48.  I would much rather you pick it up and then I can give you some more goodies for your G-body project.

I also have the original 2.56 gears and open center section, and a set of 3.23 gears as well if you want them.

I have more Olds parts in other auctions, including headers, cams, adjustable rocker arms, shifter consoles and more that will really wake things up when used together.

I take cash, check, or Paypal only, no trades, no cards, no scams.Call me if you have any questions.  Ryan Hampl 785 787 3604. ryan.hampl@gmail.com
