The Pro 9835 is a home gym system made by Weider Fitness in 1998. You can no longer purchase this as a new product, although you may find it for sale by private owners. The gym consists of a leg press, leg extension, butterfly arms, press arms and a dip station. The high and low cable pulleys allow you to do an almost limitless number of upper and lower body exercises. Two weight stacks provide between nine and 410 lbs. depending on the exercise.
Step 1Choose the weight for an exercise. One weight stack goes to the lat, upper and lower pulley stations. The other weight stack attaches to the leg press, butterfly arms and press arms. Slide the weight lock pin under the desired weight plate. Push the pin in until the bent end makes contact with the weight stack. The end of the pin should point downward.
Step 2Use the chart provided in the manual to select the appropriate weight. The cables and pulleys cause the weight at each station to vary from the actual amount listed on the weight stack. A resistance chart in the owner's manual shows you the actual weight. For example, selecting the fourth weight plate provides 125 lbs. on the press arms, but 228 lbs. on the leg press.
Step 3Connect the handle or lat bar accessory to the high or low pulley. Attach the appropriate accessory using a weight clip. If needed, position the included chain between the pulley and the accessory to increase the length of the handle. Attach the chain with two weight clips, one on the pulley and one on the accessory.
Step 4Remove the seat and leg developer assembly. For some exercises on the high pulley, you will need to remove the seat. Unscrew the seat knob and remove the carriage bolt from the lat upright beam. Pull the seat away from the unit.
Step 5Use the leg developer station for leg extensions. To use the leg lever, you first have to connect the leg lever to the low pulley. Use the included chain and two weight clips. Attach one end of the chain to the low pulley and the other end to the eye bolt on the leg lever.
Step 6Adjust the leg press plate. You can set the leg press in one of four positions. Pull the lock pin out of the welded tubes on the leg press plate. Slide the plate to the desired setting. Slide the lock pin through the welded tubes and the holes in the leg press beam. Make sure to turn the lock pin downward so it locks into place.
Step 7Consult the Weider exercise poster to set up your workout. The poster provides information on different exercises you can do and the proper form for each exercise.
