The Northwest Kansas Area Agency on Aging is accepting resumes for a Nutrition Operations Assistant 
  
Position Title: Nutrition Operations Assistant
Type of Position: Non-exempt, Hourly, Monday - Friday, 30-40 hr/wk
Immediate Supervisor: Nutrition Director

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A positive attitude and genuine concern for the elderly and disabled population
  • Typing skills and the ability to multitask
  • Strong computer and telephone knowledge
  • General office procedure experience
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs
  • Must provide proof of valid drivers’ license and be insurable
  • Food industry background desired
  • Must be able to pass a background check

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Deliver supplies to nutrition sites from central warehouse in the 18 county area
  • Maintain warehouse and nutrition supply inventories
  • Maintain site and kitchen equipment inventories
  • Maintain site equipment and oversee repairs
  • Purchasing agent for supplies and equipment for nutrition sites and kitchens
  • Assist with nutrition reporting requirements
  • Maintain nutrition site statistics
  • Maintain supply cost data for nutrition sites and kitchens
  • Prepare cost studies for various components of the nutrition program
  • Assist in monitoring meals at nutrition sites
  • Complete Kansas Department on Aging and Disability Services (KDADS) Assessment tools
  • Enter data into the Kansas Assessment Management Information System (KAMIS)
  • Answer and direct telephone calls
  • Assist customers with information enabling them to make decisions best for them
  • Present educational information and wellness activities to older adults at nutrition sites
  • Other duties as assigned

ACCOUNTABILITY

  • Efficiently and effectively perform data entry into various computer systems and spreadsheets meeting required deadlines
  • Participates as an active member of the Area Agency on Aging staff
  • Increase knowledge of agency issues, service coordination, and networking to ensure a quality level of program standards

BENEFITS

Workweek is Monday – Friday, no evenings, weekends or major holidays.  Hours are flexible and can be either a full time or part time position.  Successful applicant will receive holiday, vacation, and sick time.  Additionally, the applicant will be eligible for KPERS retirement and life insurance benefits.
