In 1999 Trek lead the industry in recumbents by introducing its R200. The company did not sell the model for long (partly for the original $1,600 price tag), but it remains to be a standard in the business and not a footnote. This bike has an amazingly comfortable rear suspension and the legendary RANS seat. It is an easy bike for someone just learning to ride a recumbent. I have owned this bike for many years, I rode it to and from work when I worked in Salina.

This is a very sturdy (TIG welded Alpha Aluminum) frame with a 24 speed drive train. It is not the fastest or lightest recumbent out there, but it is a solid, well designed bike with many many miles left to ride.
