Homer Laughlin Eggshell Nautilus China – 1940’s
I have for sale my Homer Laughlin China Company (HLC) Eggshell Nautilus fine china dinnerware collection in the pattern Ferndale. The pieces were all made in the 1940s and each piece is stamped with the HLC logo, Eggshell Nautilus and the date.
Eggshell refers to the ‘body’ of the china, a special combination of materials used to create this delicate, beautiful china. Nautilus refers to the design elements of the china, the footed style, the elegant finials and handles on the various hollowware pieces of the collection, such as the sugar/creamer and covered vegetable bowl. The pattern, Ferndale, is ivory with pink, blue and yellow floral print with gold edging.
I have a complete 6 piece dinnerware set (dinner plate, salad plate, bread/butter plate, fruit/dessert bowl, cup/saucer) service for 12 with additional serving pieces. It is an absolutely beautiful collection! The creamer is the only piece with a crack but I have kept it with the collection.
